A practitioner is the best person to answer this question. They would be able to judge based on your medical history, and other treatments you are receiving if acupuncture is able to help you. However we are of the opinion that because acupuncture brings the body back into a position of homeostasis (i.e. balance), then there is no knowing what beneficial results apart from the relief of the immediate symptoms of concern, that will come from a course of acupuncture. Also if other forms of therapy are not helping your condition or are proving expensive then acupuncture is definitely worth a try. Underneath we list conditions recommended for treatment by acupuncture by the World Health Organisation (W.H.O.), however we find that after a course of treatments patients can become more energetic, their sleeping patterns generally improve and their moods become more balanced. Also we find that skin disorders respond very well to acupuncture. Skin tends to respond very favourably when the body becomes more harmonious and worrying rashes and skin eruptions often disappear. Furthermore the process of thinning hair and hair loss is often reversed as a consequence of a series of treatments.
Furthermore, in our clinic we use strategies to treat health problems caused by scars. Because scars frequently sever acupuncture channels, we have found that further down the track these scars can result in pain in apparently unrelated areas of the body from neck and back pain, to headaches and digestive problems. The best way therefore to remove these symptoms is to treat the scar itself. To do this we use specialized tools which have been developed in Japan.
